Responsibilities:
  • Take a project from concept to completion;
  • Interface with other departments, project managers, engineers, clients and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface;
  • Collaborate with project team to determine and achieve project objectives;
  • Participate in regular project meetings;
  • Provide appropriate engineering input and a technical overview to design activities undertaken by design/drafting staff residing within or outside the project team;
  • Provide cost estimates in small to large sized projects in collaboration with all other disciplines;
  • Ensure that the deliverables provided to the project are technically accurate, within scope, budget and schedule, suitable for the intended purpose and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans.

Requirements:
  • P.Eng. registration with APEGGA or equivalent;
  • Chemical Engineering or related Engineering degree;
  • 10 plus years oil and gas design experience with EPCM background;
  • Minimum 5 years of North American EPC experience;
  • Leadership, mentorship and coordination of intermediate and junior process personnel;
  • Proficiency with HYSYS and related simulation software;
  • Execute Feasibility Studies / Conceptual Design / Process Studies;
  • Developing and stamping of key design documents (Material Balance, PFD, P&ID and Shutdown Keys);
  • Line sizing; PSV sizing; preparation of equipment process data sheets;
  • Conduct P&ID/HAZOP reviews; generate control narratives; prepare start-up/operating manual;
  • Experience assisting project engineering leads and managers in project design and execution;
  • Knowledge of all federal/provincial safety policies and procedures along with knowledge and understanding of Canadian codes and standards;
  • Proficient with MS Office software and various engineering software programs; and
  • Adept at writing technical reports and scopes of work.
