Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of the Upside Operations Team that helps guide and drive the company towards its overall goals;
- Lead and mentor engineers and designers within the Pipeline Engineering team;
- All supervisory activities with respect to managing the resources within the team;
- Providing growth plans for the Pipeline department with realistic goals;
- Provide appropriate engineering input and a technical overview to design activities undertaken by design/drafting staff residing within or outside the project team;
- Provide cost estimates in small to large sized projects in collaboration with all other disciplines;
- Ensure that the deliverables provided to the project are: technically accurate; within specifications, scope, budget and schedule; suitable for the intended purpose and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans;
- Interface with other departments, project managers, engineers, clients and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface and accurate exchange of technical data;
- Collaborate with project teams to determine and achieve project objectives;
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 10 or more years of relevant pipeline engineering experience;
- P.Eng. with APEGGA;
- Experience leading teams;
- Ability to mentor other engineers;
- Excellent working knowledge of CSA Z662;
- Adept at writing technical reports and scopes of work and preparing cost estimates;
- Recent experience in a senior role for pipeline projects;
- Proficient with MS Office software and various engineering software programs; and
- Working knowledge of stress analysis and materials engineering for the design of pipelines would be an asset.
