Responsibilities:
  • Participate as part of the Upside Operations Team that helps guide and drive the company towards its overall goals;
  • Lead and mentor engineers and designers within the Pipeline Engineering team;
  • All supervisory activities with respect to managing the resources within the team;
  • Providing growth plans for the Pipeline department with realistic goals;
  • Provide appropriate engineering input and a technical overview to design activities undertaken by design/drafting staff residing within or outside the project team;
  • Provide cost estimates in small to large sized projects in collaboration with all other disciplines;
  • Ensure that the deliverables provided to the project are: technically accurate; within specifications, scope, budget and schedule; suitable for the intended purpose and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans;
  • Interface with other departments, project managers, engineers, clients and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface and accurate exchange of technical data;
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine and achieve project objectives;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • 10 or more years of relevant pipeline engineering experience;
  • P.Eng. with APEGGA;
  • Experience leading teams;
  • Ability to mentor other engineers;
  • Excellent working knowledge of CSA Z662;
  • Adept at writing technical reports and scopes of work and preparing cost estimates;
  • Recent experience in a senior role for pipeline projects;
  • Proficient with MS Office software and various engineering software programs; and
  • Working knowledge of stress analysis and materials engineering for the design of pipelines would be an asset.
