Job responsibilities:

• Photography Lab Manager role is to liaison between customers and the technicians. One of the PC's primary responsibilities is to grow and lead a team of Photoshop CS5 technicians.
• The Photography Lab Manager must be well versed in photography and Photoshop in order to evaluate, critique and approve the work of technicians.
• Previous experience managing photographers or Photoshop technicians is an asset.

An ongoing responsibility of the Photography Lab Manager is to develop and maintain the technical skills of photoshop technicians. Paramount in this training is to develop the technician's ability to see as a photographer does. Training will be in the form of ongoing discussions, workshops and practical exercises. The technicians' performance review is based heavily on their ability to see as a photographer does and on their technical and artistic capabilities as a Photoshop retoucher.

Requirements:

• The Photography Lab Manager must have superior written/verbal communication skills and strong inter-personal skills.
• The Photography Lab Manager will communicate on a regular basis with North American customers.
• Customer service and product quality issues are managed directly by the PLM by guiding and directing the team to meet the specific requests of the customer. Having direct experience and exposure to North American culture is an asset.

The Photography Lab Manager must have excellent organization skills. As the primary contact point for our customers, the Photography Lab Manager is responsible for making sure the customer orders are completed on time. This requires scheduling and assigning the correct number of man hours to be able complete the work order in the promised amount of time. Customers will call/email asking for an estimate of when a particular work order will be completed.

* 3 - 5 years experience as a professional or semi professional photographer: experience in portrait, wedding, school and architectural genres is an asset
* minimum 2 years experience with Photoshop
* understanding and exposure to North American culture and retouching standards is an asset
* excellent written and verbal communication skills in english
* strong inter personal skills
* ability to lead, manage, train and grow team of Photoshop technicians
* strong organizational skills and the ability to manage work order production
